Descendants of Morgan Bourke
Notes
The first of our Bourke clan that I can verify is Morgan Bourke born about 1795 died in 1869 in Moanmore, Parish of Emly. Morgan married Sarah Mitchell in the Parish of Galbally, County Tipperary 25 Feb 1824. There witnesses were John Bourke and Timothy McGrath. Morgan is found in Tithe and Applotment book of 1833 and in Griffith's Valuation of 1851. In the Tithe Applotment Book of 1833 Morgan was leasing 3/4 of an acre of land. In Griffith's Valuation of 1851 Morgan leased a house, office and 48 and 3/4 acres of land. The land was in two seperate lots. He leased 15 1/4 acres from James Scully Esq. and 33 1/2 acres from Catherine Frazer. In both of these books he is living in Moanmore he is also listed in 1840 as leasing land in Ballynoe. Morgan is listed as one of the subscribers to the Daniel O'Connell Committee of 1833. Morgan is a widower on his civil death record in 1869 and his age is listed as 73. It must be assumed that Sara died prior to Morgan. Morgan and Sarah had twelve children.

Mary - Baptized 10 Aug 1842 Parish of Emly, Co. Tipperary. God parents were Edmond Bourke and Mary Glasheen. Mary is listed on her sister Julia's marriage record
