*Samuel Ansley - Born between 1770-1780 one researcher puts the birth abt. 1779 another 29 Jun 1774 in Orange Co. NC.  Samuel moved to Lownes County Alabama from Lincolnton Ga. Sometime between 1817 and 1822.   Samuel married Celia Watts (see Watts (b abt. 1783 in NC)) abt 1797. Samuel's will was registered 26 Sept 1838 in Lownes Co. Alabama.  Samuel is listed in the 1830 Alabama census as living in Lownes County and having a household of 4 white males (including himself), 5 white females, 3 black males and 3 black females (the census does not list names).   Samuel died 5 Jul 1842 in Lowndes County Alabama.   Samuel's children are:

 Jane Francis -Born 1817 Died abt 1847 [3] Married James Hearthman 28 Aug 1839 in Lownes Co. Alabama. 2^nd marriage 5 OCT 1843 Morgan B. Hinkle  James and Jane are twins.

 Benjamin Thomas - Born 25 Oct 1826 in Lownes Co. Alabama.  Benjamin is found in the 1850 Census in Lownes County single and lists his occupation as a Planter. Benjamin married Media Ann Elizabeth Lee (b. 1833 Mt. Willing, Lownes Co., Alabama) abt 1858.  I have found 7 of there children.  Benjamin re-married [4] Clara Wilson (b,9 May 1840 Carterville Bartow Co. Georgia)  26 Jan 1875 in Forrest Home Butler Co. Alabama.

 Nancy - Born between 1825-1830 in Lownes Co. Alabama Married John T. Coleman 4 Jan 1843 in Lownes Co. Alabama 2 nd Marriage. 02 MAY 1850 Hugh T. Fountain d.
