Impermeability Gases and Vapors
FluoroResist has low permeability to water vapor and various other gases. Water vapor permeability measured at 38ºC (100ºF) and 90% RH was found to be: 0/15 g-mil/100 in2/24 hrs.
Figure 1 show the rate of permeation of water vapor at 140ºF (60ºC) as a function of thickness, while Figure 2 shows it as a function of temperature. At elevated service temperature, FluoroResist has superior moisture vapor impermeability compared to certain other fluoropolymers at the same conditions.
