ITEM CO 3/3
REUNION August 14th,
15th. and 16th 2002
Quantico Va. and Washington D.C.
Well we had a fine reunion this year and I want
to thank Dick Squires for his help. We missed a bunch of you,
the pictures attached, are to show what a handsome group that
we had. I guess that my favorite memory recall was Wade Thompson
remembered one hot day at Tent Camp 3½ when they passed
the hat and everyone contributed a dollar to build this memorial
st Arlington National Cemetery. It looks like we got our money's
worth.
We had 23 people this year and they
included: John Beck, Don & Joan Jones, Bruce Livingston,
Bob & Barb Robarge, Les & Dianne Skates, Bob & Dolores
Spitz, Clyde & Charmie Sprague, Dick & Audry Squires,
Stanley Stinmetz, Wade & Jackie Thompson, Harry Tinsman,
Dave & Sydney Tucker, Harry Voorhees, and Paul & Earlyn
Wehner. Bruce Livingston is a friend of John Beck and we enjoyed
having him. It was sure nice to see Bruce Livingston, Charmie
Sprague, Harry Tinsman, and Harry Voorhees who didn't make the
reunion at Fort Worth.
In this reunion we stayed at the. Crossroads
Inn , on the base, and on Thursday we visited the Basic School,
the Marine Corps Air-Ground Museum, Marine Helicopter Squadron
One, and the Alfred M. Gray Research Center (Archives), on Friday
we visited . The Marine Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery,
The Marine Corps Museum at the Washington Naval Yard, and ended
the day with The Evening Parade at The Marine Barracks, 8th &
"I" Streets in D.C.
