Dragons on the Discworld |
In the Discworld there are two kinds of dragons: Swamp Dragons [Draco Vulgaris] and Noble Dragon [Draco Nobilis]. |
The swamp dragons are small, about two or three feet [one meter], very colorful, eat practically everything [metal, wood, glass, oil], smell awful and tend to self-explode from every digestive problem [which are very common when you have an ignition system and its fuel in the same body. |
The swamp dragons can rearrange their digestive system to deal with complicated raw materials [like a fluffy purple hippo]. They use the product to breathe fire and glide on the hot air they create. |
On the other hand, the noble dragons are huge, graceful, feed on magic [and virgins] and are extinct on the Discworld. They didn't die, however, but went to the realm of fantasy, and can be called back. This is not a good idea, though - the noble dragons are highly intelligent, and highly vicious, totally selfish, greedy, always hungry and can't be negotiated with [not like human beings]. The dragons don't even know the meaning of the word "friend", the closest thing they have is an enemy still alive. |
