The Truth |
The dwarves have found a way of making lead into gold. Its printing, and thats not allowed in Ankh-Morpork, up until now. William De Worde is the editor of the Ankh-Morpork Times - the first newspaper of AM. He has to deal with the dwarves, a reformed vampire with a fascination for flash photography, an assistant editor who thinks in headlines, and a lot of people who want him dead. |
There is a plot to discredit the Patrician and depose him, and William has to get to the truth through the objections of the Watch, the Engravers Guild, and the criminals known as the New Firm - Mr. Pin and Mr. Tulip. Its the coldest winter in living memory (although some people wouldnt agree), but its going to get hot in the press room in Gleam street soon enough. |

A fascinating novel, with new leading characters, first time after Soul Music. A funny view of the printing and newspaper industry, and some really weird bad-guys - well worth reading. |
