When we last left Rincewind he was falling of the edge of the discworld (as described in the Colour Of Magic). Now, however he is back on the discwolrd, along with Twoflower (and his luggage), and the whole discworld is in danger. There is a weird red star getting closer and closer to the discworld, and things are really heating up...

In Rincewind's head is one of the eight spells of the Octavo, the magic book that the creator left on the disc. He has to read all of the spells on Hogswatch night, or the discworld will be destroyed.

It's a hilarious book, containing Cohen the old Barbarian, and the Luggage - the travel accessory with the homicidal personality. It also features druids, wizards, the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and Ysabell, Death's Daughter.
