Night Watch |
Duke Vimes of Ankh-Morpork City watch is a man with everything - a wife, a baby on the way, a big house, a job he likes - and he's about to loose it all soon. |
After chasing a psychopath killer to the roof of the Unseen University library, they both get hit by lightning from a strange storm (read Thief Of Time to find out about the storm), and they both get transported to the past. |
Now Vimes finds himself naked and alone 30 years in the past, and he has to bring history back to its rightful course - bring his young self back in shape, lead a revolution, and loose. If he doesn't do it right, he will have no future to come back to - no wife, no job, no life. |
A thrilling book, a bit low on the jokes but full of suspense. Worth reading, even if you don't like the newer books, to meet the young Vimes, Colon, Nobby, Vetinary, and all the rest of the Ankh-Morpork cast. |
