The Agatian Empire is in turmoil - the old emperor is dying, and the five great families are waiting to seize power as soon as he�s dead. There�s also a rebel army, and a bunch of barbarian heroes are taking an interest too. These are turning out to be interesting times. |

Only one man can solve this mess - Rincewind the wizzard, who can�t even spell correctly. He needs to find his way between the intrigues of Lord Hong, who wants to be the next emperor and conquer the world, the Red Army, which is mainly a bunch of kids who can�t even come up with proper rebellious slogans, and Cohen the Barbarian and his Silver Horde, a group of ancient barbarians that wants to steal something from the palace. All in all, a real adventure. |

A great book - one of my favorites. Heavy on the jokes side like all the Rincewind novels, and a bit weak on plot, but well worth reading. |
