Then beneath the post what did he find
Something quite amazing under the vines
A little boy lay sleeping
Wrapped in a long old coat and a wide brimmed hat
With a little turned up nose and hair fiery red
The farmer took him home to his wife and they both put him to bed
There he lay sleeping quite safe and sound
All of that day and all of that night
Until once again the sun came around
Then he awoke, yawned, stretched and sat upright
"Hello" said farmer Sam and "Good morning" said Mary
"Hello" said Peter cheerfully. And so begins his story.
