Disclose the Word of Truth Accurately
Mar 2022
Text: Study to shew thyself
approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Ti 2:15
Theme: The above verse "rightly
dividing the word of truth" is the
writing of the apostle Paul addressed to Timothy, as a son and brother
in faith.
First Example
For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us;
<---Unknown time span--->
the coat of arms of government is on
his shoulder, and his name is mentioned by people: Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
Rightly dividing is the same as cutting a
sentence of a verse into two sentences.
The first part of the above verse "For a child was born to us, a son
was given to us" was
fulfilled 2000 years ago when the baby Jesus was
born through the womb of Mary as His mother.
The second part "the coat of arms of government is upon his shoulders,
and his name is spoken of: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal
Father, Prince of Peace." will be fulfilled literally and
not figuratively. It will
come true in the future at His second coming
after His feet touchdown on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem (Zec
14:1-4).
Then the LORD will be King over all the
earth; at that time the LORD
was the only one and his name the only one. The whole land will be like
Arabah-Jordan, from Geba to Rimon south of Jerusalem. But the city will
rise high and remain in its place, from the gate of Benjamin to the
place of the former gate, which is to the gate of the Corner, and from
the tower of Hananel to the king's winepress. (Zec 14:9-10)
Second Example
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD hath anointed
me; He has sent me to proclaim good news to the poor, to heal the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of
the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the year of the LORD's
favor. <---Unknown time
span---> and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all
who mourn (Isa 61: 1-2).
The first part of the above verse was
fulfilled when the Lord Jesus
read the scroll of Isaiah above;
And he taught in their synagogues,
being glorified of all. And he came
to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he
went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read. To
him was given the book of the prophet Esaias, and when he had opened
it, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is
upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives, and sight to the blind, to
set at liberty them that are bruised, and to proclaim the acceptable
year of the Lord. " Then he
closed the book, gave it back to the
officer, and sat down; and the eyes of all the people in the
synagogue
were fixed on him. And he
began to teach them, saying, "Today this
scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." (Lu 4: 15-21)
The Lord Jesus stopped reading and did not continue the second part of
the scripture "and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all that
mourn," (Isa 61: 1-2)
Its fulfillment will be in the
future;
Then the Lord will go out and fight
against those nations, as he fights
on a day of battle. At that time His feet will set on the Mount of
Olives, located in front of Jerusalem to the east. The Mount of Olives
will split in two from east to west, making a very large valley; half
of the hill will shift to the north and the other half to the south.
(Zec 14:3-4)

Last Example
That salvation is what the prophets searched and scrutinized, who
prophesied about the grace that was destined for you. And they examined
the time when and how the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, was the
Spirit who had previously testified of all the sufferings that were to
come upon Christ <---
Unknown time span ---> and of all the
glories that followed after that. (1Pe 1: 10-11)
The first part of the above verse was
fulfilled when the Lord Jesus
suffered to die on the cross to bear all the sins of mankind. The
second part 'and of all the glories that follow after it' will
take
place at the time of His second coming as Lord and King ruling
over
the whole world from the city of Jerusalem for 1000 years.
So many nations and strong tribes will
come to Jerusalem to seek the
LORD of hosts, and to soften the heart of the LORD. "Thus says the LORD
of hosts: a Jew saying, "We will go with you, for we have heard that
God is with you" (Zec 8: 22-23)
The relationship of Christ and His Church is a mystery
(Eph 5:32) which not revealed in the Old Testament Bible and the four
Synoptic Gospels [Matthew to John] of the New Testament. The Church was
born on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem (Ac2:1-4).
The nature of Christchurch never been revealed to men since the
creation of the heavens and the earth until Saul (the Jew Pharisee)
converted and became the apostle Paul.
Paul wrote 13 letters to the Church of God in various cities and
villages in Asia. His letters became part of the New Testament.
While Israel is a “called assembly" Ex12:6, Ac7:38, it is a
“National Body”, which consists exclusively of Abraham's descendants.
On the other hand, the Church is not a “National Body”, as it is
not people from one nation of Israel, but individuals from each
tribe of Israel and people of non-Jewish nations.
Saul was formerly the persecutor of 'the way', the followers of
Jesus after His resurrection. He was then 'captured' by Jesus from the
sky (Ac 9:3-4; Ac 22:6-8; Ac 26:13-15). He bravely testified before the
crowd of his people until he had to be saved by Roman officers from the
wrath of the Jews (Ac 23:8-11).
The existence of the Church (Ekklesia) 'BUT NOW' (pictured) was
revealed to
the apostle Paul and not to the apostle Peter.
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you
Gentiles, 2 If you have heard of the dispensation of the grace
of God which is given me toward you: 3 How that by revelation
he made known unto me the
mystery; (as I wrote before in few words, 4
By which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery
of Christ) 5 Which in
other ages was not made known unto the
sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets
by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellow
heirs, and
of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Eph 3:1-6
The apostle Peter had difficulty understanding the writings of
Paul's letters;
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;
even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given
unto him has written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles,
speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be
understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable twist, as
they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2Pe
3:15-16
Conclusion
First - While the Bible was
written for all classes of people, and FOR
the study of God's Church; this does not mean that the entire Bible is
addressed to all people in general.
All of these things have happened to them [the elect of the Jews] as an
example and were written down [in
the Old Testament Bible] to be a
warning to us [God's church]
who live at a time, where the last days
have arrived. (1Co 10:11)
Second - While the entire Bible
was written for Church instruction, not
everything was written about the Church. Some of it was addressed to
the JEWS, some to the GENTILES, and some to the CHURCH
(the Body of Christ). These three constitute the
"Three Classes of the Human Race" into which humanity are divided.
Do not give offence, either to the
Jew or the Gentile,
or to
the congregation of God.
(1Co 10:32)
Lastly - It is a bad idea to
apply Bible passages to the Congregation of God about something that
does not belong to
her. Why? Because it will bring confusion. In other words, the entire
Bible was not written about the Church, but was written for the
instruction of the Church of God (Ekklesia) which is the "The Holy
Catholic Church" of all time and eternity.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: 2Ti 3:16
