The time of tribulation and persecution (Jer 30:7) that Jesus prophesied for his Jewish nation began shortly before the new age (The 1000 years kingdom). You run the risk of dying as a martyr if you have faith in Jesus. The beheading still occuring in the Middle East & Africa regions by the terrorist group ISIS / ISIL. Will you be left behind or lifted up?
Jesus explained what is coming . . .
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world? . . . And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall grow cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Mt 24:3-14)
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake [the Jews] those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. (Mt 24:21-25)

Ahasuerus was furious and with the advice of his advisor Memucan, got rid of Vashti, and made an announcement that every man should be the head of his household.

Chapter Two - Competition of beauty to find the successor queen Est. 2: 1-23
After his anger subsided, the king recalled Vashti and his assistants proposing to search for virgins all over the kingdom instead of Vashti. Mordecai, a descendant of the Jewish nation, participated in registering his cousin Esther. Esther, is an orphan and her uncle adopted as her own child. At the end of the selection, Esther most captivated the king and was appointed queen. However, Esther did not reveal her nationality, because it was forbidden by Mordecai. Chapter Three - Haman and anti-Semitism. Est. 3: 1-15
Haman the rich man promoted king Ahaseurus as prime minister so that all the king's ministers and the inhabitants of the city bowed down to him. He hated Mordecai very much because he did not want to bow down to worship him. He cunningly bribed with money and used the king's hand ring to certify the slaughter of the Jews throughout the kingdom on the 13th of the twelfth month.

Chapter Four - Precisely for a time like this Est. 4: 1-17
There were cries and lamentations of the Jews throughout the kingdom. The Moderkai wearing sackcloth and ashes wail and howl in the midst of the city. The first Esther was embarrassed and sent clothes. Finally, he understood what the matter was after Mordecai delivered a copy of the edict and asked Esther to appear before the king to intervene. Esther refused out of fear, but after being motivated by her adoptive father, she asked all the Jews in the city of Sushan with her maids to fast 3 days and 3 nights before meeting the king.

Chapter Five - The golden rod and the grace of Esther Est 5: 1-14
According to royal protocol, anyone who appeared in the court of the king without being invited, the penalty was death. Esther, dressed as empress, received grace through the extended golden scepter in the king's hand as a symbol of acceptance of her presence. The king asked Esther's wish and was willing to give half the kingdom if asked. But Esther only asked the king and Haman to come for the feast. Encouraged by the king's generosity, Esther would make her request at the banquet the following day. Haman, was very proud of the invitation from the queen and told his family. Haman, in fact, came that morning intending to demand that Mordecai be hanged; but the king had already asked for an attempt to reward someone who had saved the king from the assassination plot. Haman thought that the reward was for him and explained how. Unexpectedly the king ordered Haman to immediately apply not to him, but to Mordecai.

Haman went home very gloomy to tell his family and before he finished speaking, the envoy from the palace had rushed to get Haman for the next feast.

The king again asked what Esther wanted, even half the kingdom would be given. It was only at this moment that Esther begged that her life and her nation as a descendant of Jews be saved because the declaration of annihilation of the Jewish nation designed by Haman had spread everywhere. Chapter Eight - Message of hope from the king. Esth 8: 1-17
Mordecai received the first relief, but Esther begged again with tears to the king so that the decree of the massacre could be lifted. Since the king's mandate in the form of edicts was irrevocable according to Persian law, Mordecai was given the power to make martial edicts of the Jews against his enemies with the king's meterei ring. The Jews rejoiced in Mordecai's relief and increased in prestige.
