Be Ready

This part of the parable as Jesus talked on the Mount of Olives goes beyond the "sign" question of the disciples ;
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world? Matthew 24:3
The explaination presents the return of Christ Jesus as King of kings and Lord of hosts in three aspects of Matthew 25:

(1) The test of the profession as a Christian, Mt 25:1-13

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. (Mt 25:1-9)

First, And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Matthew 25:10

Second, Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man comes. Matthew 25:11-13

Note:
The bridegroom represent Jesus Christ, and the parable describes His return for the fiancé of His love to be ready.
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:2
Christ is described as the bridegroom of His Church ;
And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. Matthew 9:15
  In the Old Testament, God describes Himself as Israel's “husband”
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. 7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. Isaiah 54:5-8.

Five wise virgins were on guard with enough oil in their vessels. While the five fools left were able to buy oil because their right hand or forehead had been sealed by a 666 chip.
And he caused that all men, small or great, rich or poor, free or bond, should be given a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one could buy or sell except those who wore the mark, namely, the name of the beast. that or the number of its name. The important thing here is wisdom: whoever is wise, let him count the number of the beast, for that number is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred and sixty -six. (Re 13: 16-18)
  The prophesied 'mark of the beast for all buying and selling' in Revelation 13 is almost here! https://dsruptive.com/

(2) Tests as a servant, Mt 25:14-30;

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his own ability; and immediately took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made five other talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained another two. But he that had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them. (Mt 25:14-19)

with 2 consequenes

1. And so he that had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, Lord, you delivered unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of your lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of your lord. (Mt 25:20-23)

2. Then he who had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not spread: And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: lo, there you have what is yours. His lord answered and said unto him, You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not spread: You ought therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him who has ten talents. For unto everyone that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has. And cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mt 25:24-30)

(3) A test for the Gentiles,
  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. (Mt 25:31-33)

sheep on the right;

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you hungry, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink? When saw we you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you? Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came unto you? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Since you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren [the Jews], you have done it unto me. (Mt 25:34-40)

goats on the left

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was hungry, and you gave me no food: I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and you visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you hungry, or thirsty or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto you? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Since you did it not to one of the least of these [Israelite], you did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Mt 25:41-46)

In Summary

The context of Matthew 25 is about the second coming of Jesus for the Jews to end the seven years of Jacob's trouble. (Dan 12:1-2)
The Church of God on the otherhand has been lifted out before the beginning of the Tribulation of Jacob. Click here.
When Jesus spoke this parable, the Church [Ekklesia] was not born, did not yet exist on planet earth.
His words were not addressed to the Church of God who have been redeemed by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Why?
Because Jesus hasn't yet died on the cross to pay the penalty of sin, of the whole fallen human race and rose again for the justification of those who believed.
The Church of God is a "new human race" of a new creation in Christ for both repentant Jews and non-Jews (Gentiles) who believe. 2Cor5:17
Jesus' words recorded in Matt 25 were solely addressed to the Jews as God’s elect who rejected Him as their Messiah.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (Joh 1:11-13)

As that great preacher of the Word, Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, said, "To me the second coming is the perpetual light on the path which makes the present bearable. I never lay my head on my pillow without thinking that maybe before morning breaks, the final morning may have dawned! I never begin my work without thinking that perhaps He may interrupt my work and begin His own. This is now His word to all believing souls, till He comes."
