Among the Takai Sennyo science is studied, however some areas are more well understood than others. Mathematics is rudimentary, but they have sufficient knowledge to erect large structures using only simple tools. Physics is understood only as far as friction, leverage, convection and other basic aspects. Chemistry is more advanced than alchemy, but still greatly resembles it in practice and structure. Anatomy and medicine are known well enough to mend broken bones, cure some diseases through herbology and such, and perform very basic surgery. Their surgical techniques however are still very primitive, and the mortality rate is high.

It is in taxonomy and astronomy that the Takai Sennyo show true aptitude. Their love of naming and classifying has lead them to discover constellations, planets, comets and to be able to precisely predict their movements and appearances. In taxonomy they have kingdom, genus and species, but other divisions are unknown.
