Magic To the Takai Sennyo magic is seen as reading or manipulating the flow of energies. It is mostly used by members of the church, travelers, and royalty, but some police use magic in apprehending suspects and in finding evidence. All Takai Sennyo are free to learn magic, and most know some spells. The most common way of learning and passing on spells is through traditional magic books. In these books spells seem to appear automatically when they are learned, or when the owner is ready to learn them. Many are also capable of shapeshifting, which they can do from birth without the aid of spells, but need practice in order to take a wide variety of forms or stay in them for long periods of time. This is attributed to the mythical Queen Lynette being made a vampire.
