Architecture

In cities most buildings are made of stone, and are between two and three floors in height. Arched doorways are most often used and usually have a decorations in relief at the peak. A fairly common one is their chief religious symbol the Ashkela. After that family symbols are popular, especially on exterior doors. There are no hallways, but there is often a center room which opens onto the others, and contains a stairway to the other levels. Windows are abundant, and also arched. Most buildings are heated by fireplaces with elaborately winding chimneys, which in turn heat higher rooms.

Important buildings, such as royal residences and places of law, are frequently tall circular towers, with a circular stair at the axis. Temples are dome shaped structures, they customarily have and Ashkela at their peak, and statues at the four compass points. They are open to the public all times except during certain closed ceremonies. In their center is often an altar statue. In more rural areas buildings are made of wood most often a single floor. With only arches for exterior doors and windows.
