Errors in the Mandrake Theory

There are several problems with the Mandrake Theory. Firstly it is the idea of Inuki having the child with Lynette.

A: Inuki (being an Ookami) would only be able to reproduce in Ookami form. This would cause some problems, and be rather difficult. The first reason for this would be:
Unlike domestic dogs which have two estrus periods each year the Ookami, like the wolf has only one. This period is determined by the seasons so that the Ookami pups will be born in the warmth of spring-time, when food is plentiful. The female, if not yet come into estrus, will not accept the sexual advances of the male. The Ookami become more increasingly affectionate as the amount of daylight, no matter how slight, increases after December 21st. The increasing daylight stimulates the wolves' pineal gland, which, in turn, triggers their pituitary gland into releasing stimulating horomones into the bloodstream. The microscopic amounts of horomones trigger a response in the wolves' activities completely out of proportion to the amount used. Basically even with the Mandrake Root's effects Inuki would not become more "affectionate" towards anyone, and right now it is Spring, but by the time SD is defeated it will probably be Fall or Winter.

The second reason would be:
In Ookami form There is an actual courtship or bonding period in which the Alpha adults spend even more time together than they usually do and engage in more bodily contact. The female will have a bloody discharge from her vulva for a period of eight to ten days before estrus begins. She will be in estrus for five to even days, during which time copulation occurs a number of times. As is true with all the canine family the bulb expands inside the female's vagina, locking the two together for a period of up to thirty minutes, which causes another problem.

B: The DNA. You couldn't mix a human's DNA with a wolf's Ookami's are just the same, and Lynette being a half ghost half vampire just makes things even more muddled. The child would be a 2/4 Demon/Ookami 1/4 Ghost and 1/4 Vampire. That would *not* work out very well.

C: You'd think either Inuki or Lynette would know, with their combined knowledge of magic and plants what Mandrake's full effects were. That's all I can think of right now, but there will be more in the future.
