"I'm afraid we can't do that sir. I believe that they have permits, and it would be no good trying to convince them, every time we try to get near them they swarm us and try and steal all our clothing as souvenirs. So unless you want to see two half-nude boys walking without a room or anything and a rampaged room I suggest you don't force us to go out there and talk to them. Besides, we can't control them, they can get pretty wild, I heard that they killed a bunch of pilots from other schools that said that we were no good, you might want to watch out Sir, they may come after you if you bad-mouth us. Anyhow, we have nothing to do with them, they just follow us around." that was all a total lie, but Mitsuhiro sounded sincere enough. He was good at false statements, and a little white-lie couldn't hurt, especially if they planned on ever getting to fly those Titans during the night. He had worked out a way to get them started, and had been sending blue-prints of them to his old roommate, who was very intrigued by them, and was also working on finding a way to destroy the I.P.M. space-robot that they had first seen no more than a week and a half ago through his telescope in the Learning Institute.
"Very well then,
you are dismissed until Monday when you start your training. I will see both
of you then. Until then I trust you will stay out of my sight, if I catch
you with those girls you will suffer. Do you understand me boys? Remember,
meals are at 7 in the morning, so you'll have to wake up early, lunch is at
twelve, and dinner is at six in the evening. That is all." he gave a
tired look, and the boys nodded slowly to show that they understood completely.
Kaleb just wanted to get out of the office as soon as possible!
"Don't you worry Sir, you can count on us, we won't disappoint you, besides
we've been getting up at six in the morning recently, so we'll be fine!"
the head nodded to Mitsuhiro, and then the door opened. The head's secretary
rushed in, with an apricot, creamcheese, salmon sandwich. She burst in saying
that that was all she could get because the lunch room was full of girls and
that they had taken all the normal sandwiches and all the other food except
for two of these weird ones. She saw the two boys, and said
"Oh, sorry Sir, is this not a good time?" the man shook his head
in reply, and completely ignored the two boys as they began to leave.
"No, don't worry, they were just leaving." the two boys got up,
and left. Kaleb closed the door behind them. He gave a sigh of relief as the
exited the office. It was about three in the afternoon by then.
"Would you mind doing a background check on a boy named Kaleb for me? Kaleb Allister?" the secretary nodded, and a moment later came up with a picture of Kaleb's face front the front and either side, unfortunately the pictures were blurred, and the light was dim in the photos. He was eighteen, it said, and he had gone for six years to some learning institute, in which he had the highest mark in the whole school for piloting. His old roommate at the Institute was Mitsuhiro, and his current roommate was none other than the same. His private secretary had done the interview for him, which made sense, since the boy seemed rather quiet and shy. The head blinked twice to make sure he was reading the information correctly. It seemed that Kaleb was adopted by his wealthy parents, who he visited in the summer, and that he had been found on the streets. There was no information about him before he was eleven. That was the age he was found on the streets at, and he entered the Learning Institute at age twelve, a year later. What was this boy's past? Why was he always so quiet? More importantly, why did he seem to familiar? The answer had to be right under his nose, as most obvious answers are, but the obvious answers are almost always the trickiest to explain and give reasons for. Like lightning, you couldn't just say that some ancient Greek God shot lightning bolts down when he was angered, you had to had proof, evidence, a reason, to back it up. Sometimes things were true, like the fact that the planets revolve around the sun, and not that the planets and sun revolve around the Earth. You had to have reasons and evidence of it before people would agree, and believe you.
