Flux Chess by L. Lynn Smith Begin with a standard set of Chessmen, a 4x4x4 cube and a good number of tokens. All pieces move according to their classic 3D movements, the Pawns are replaced by Unicorns. Each player, in turn, places their King on the field. Then in turn, they begin placing the remaining or moving pieces already on the field. Under the following conditions, each piece introduced to the field is marked with four(or any number that the players desire) tokens and the piece does not give check to the opponent King. At end of each turn, tokens are removed from each present friendly piece and pieces which have none(except the King) are removed from the field but can be re-introduced on subsequent turns. A piece which was immediately placed will not have a token removed on that particular turn. Pieces which are captured are removed entirely from play. The game is won by checkmating the opponent King. Of course it is impossible to give check with a piece which will be immediately removed.
