The Wallflowers
Wallflowers - "Rebel, Sweetheard" DualDisc (Kazaamies = Zero of 5)

Surround fans... DON'T BOTHER!!! The 5.1 mix is horrible. It's non-existant.  They lied.

Yes, the DualDisc packaging does, indeed, state that the entire album has been remixed in surround sound.  And, yes, my player technically recognizes and plays a so-called high-resolution DVD-Audio multi-channel track.  But the surround mix on "Rebel, Sweetheart" doesn't even expand on stereo with simple reverb or delay. Seriously, it does NOTHING. I've maybe heard some mixes where I'd be tempted to say there was "nothing" in the surrounds before, but the mix found here has to be one of the emptiest. So if I say it here, I mean it. There was only one track ("California") where I was only somewhat sure I heard something coming from the surrounds; and that was with my ears next to the speaker.  It's possible that I just imagined it.  What a complete waste.  Moreover, it is such a disappointment after having been pleasantly surprised by the SACD version of the band's "Red Letter Days" album.  Pass on this DualDisc and just get the regular CD version.
