The Isley Brothers
       The Isley Brothers - "3+3"  SACD  (Kazaamies = 3-1/2 of 5)

The Isley's are a little bit funky on 1973's "3+3".  The album includes some great originals such as "That Lady" and "If You Were There (You'd Know)".  Also included are fine renditions of "Summer Breeze" and "Sunshine (Go Away Today).  Sonically, the recording doesn't sound particularly harsh or over-compressed.  It is, however, a bit on the soft side, which actually makes for a relaxing listen.  As for the surround mix?  It is adapted from the original Quadraphonic mix, so it isn't all that surprising to hear that the surrounds are quite discrete.  All in all, this release ain't too shabby; but there isn't anything of reference quality to be found.

Note:  "3+3" is a single layer SACD, which means there is no regular CD compatibility.
