I ignored this Super Audio CD when it first came out because I'm not particularly fond of Everlast's combination of rap, rock, and (perhaps) folk. Moreover, I had read a review that was fairly negative. So... Naturally, I figured my money could be better spent elsewhere. However, money became a non-issue once the hybrid disc was offered by one of the record clubs. So even though I expected the worst, I figured what the heck! Low risk, right? Well... It turns out I was pleasantly surprised upon my first listen. Mind you, I'm in no position to judge the merits of the lyrics; but I do like the way it sounds. It's nowhere near as anemic as I had expected. Surrounds contain hand claps and other light instrumentation. No doubt, though, that the front speakers are the primary focus. So... In conclusion, I like this disc; but still I probably wouldn't pay top dollar for it.
