The 20th Anniversary Edition of Dire Strait's classic album "Brothers In Arms" has been particularly popular with audiophiles. Not only has it been remastered, but also remixed into 5.1 surround sound. It has been said, "This is what multichannel music should sound like". This is a subjective area to be sure; but, in my opinion, this would certainly be a good starting point for future releases. I bought the hybrid SACD version, and sonically it sounds excellent---occasionally, even impressive. And Chuck Ainley's surround mix is very active. In fact, it seems that most everything about this disc is of such a high quality that it doesn't hardly bother me that vocals are placed primarily into the center channel. Though, I do still wonder if moving vocals to the front left/right would have resulted in even better sound.
