If you liked the Super Audio CD of Roxy Music's "Avalon", then you'll probably enjoy Bryan Ferry's "Boys and Girls". This may be a solo album, but musically it's still very similar to Roxy Music. Much like "Avalon", the sound quality on this disc is also quite good. It has plenty of warm, lush tones and solid bass. And the surround mix? It's nearly perfect. Vocals are spread across the front, whist the back channels contain light instrumentation and ambience. Their presence is strong, yet it's mixed in such a way that they often feel like extensions of the mains. This is definitely some great stuff, provided you like that 1980's sound.
