Boyz II Men
Boyz II Men - "Boyz II Men"  DTS-CD  (Kazaamies = 4.25 of 5)

This was the second major release by the 1990's R&B vocal goup, Boyz II Men.  It's also their only album to have been remixed into surround sound, which is too bad because this one ain't half bad.  The DTS-CD starts out with a demo-quality track, "Thank You", and ends with a magnificant a'capella rendition of The Beatle's "Yesterday".  The former includes lots of surround action, high-energy beats, and wonderful harmonizing.  The latter places vocals all around in a manner that doesn't quite reach the Heavens, but I suspect it comes close.  The tracks in between vary in quality.  None are horrible, but some don't quite capture the excellence of the first and last tracks.   For instance, the hit song "Water Runs Dry" is pretty good with its lead vocals having been spread across the front three speakers.  But "I'll Make Love To You" relies too much on bass vocals and lyrically it's not much better than most stereotypical makeout songs.  Other songs, despite their pleasing ambience, just don't have much in the way of "wow" moments from the surrounds.  None of this is really worth harping on, though, since the overall disc quality is quite good.  Definitely recommended.
