David Bowie - "Heathen" SACD (Kazaamies=4 of 5)
I'll be honest. This is a really long album (especially w/four bonus tracks) and I keep falling asleep when I listen to it. But based on the first half, the surround mix is incredibly well done. Well... Actually, I most definitely do recommend this SACD. From a technical standpoint, it is probably one of the best-sounding (if not the best) multichannel music album from David Bowie. It's better sounding than the "Reality" album, which isn't half bad in its own right. And it's better-sounding than the SACD of "Ziggy Stardust". I guess it just doesn't quite hold my attention as much as many of Bowie's other albums. But it still might be worth a listen. Musically, it has been praised by numerous critics as Bowie's best album in years.
Note: "Heathen" is a single-layer SACD; it does not have a CD-compatible layer |
