Bob Dylan - "Blonde on Blonde" SA-CD (Kazaamies = 3-1/2 of 5)
"Blonde on Blonde" is a much drier recording than either "Slow Train" or "Blood on the Tracks". Moreover, the surrounds are quite a bit softer---like ambience. So since I'm a big surround sound guy, I'm tempted to say that I don't like "Blonde on Blonde" quite as much as either of the previously mentioned albums. However, I'll need to listen to it more to be sure. At the worst, I'll give it a 3-1/2 rating. Or maybe a 4. Regardless, this disc is pretty good, too.
Note: "Blonde on Blonde" was originally released as a stereo-only, single layer disc. So check the fine print before you buy. The newest version comes in a 2-disc digipak, wheras the original SACD was a single disc in a jewel case. |
