Stop Looking At My Netflix Queue!!!

That means you TNT and FX. And all you other cable television networks? To quote Stephen Colbert, you're formally "On Notice". If I catch any of you looking at my Netflix queue ever again, heads will roll!

The other night I finally got around to watching the DVD of "The Aviator". Well... about a third of the way into the movie I got a phone call. So I put the movie on pause and started to channel surf during the conversation. And, to my surprise, there on the FX network was Leonardo DeCaprio playing the great Howard Hughes: "The Aviator". At the same flippin' time that I sat down to watch the DVD? How odd.

A similar thing happened to me when I recently rented the DVD of "50 First Dates", starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. I saw the previews and actually had to go out of my way to avoid watching that movie on TNT. (I think that was the network?)

Not quite as dramatic as the incident with "The Aviator", I know. But it is enough to make me believe this is more than a simple coincidence. I fully believe that, somewhere out there in cable-tv land, someone is spying on my Netflix queue. They can't come up with any fresh programming ideas of their own. As such, they are simply airing whatever I've been renting from Netflix.

So, I say stop it now! The next movie in my queue is "Purple Rain" starring prince (and Apollonia!). So if anyone puts that movie on TV over the next few weeks, I'll retaliate. Honest! In fact, I just checked the Netflix catalog and I think it might be time to order up some DVDs of the childrens program, "Mister Rogers Neighborhood". I'm sure that program would do wonders for everyone's ratings!

I've already picked out a special episode to watch. It's entitiled: "Mister Rogers Neighborhood: 'What Do You Do With The Mad That You Feel?'".

You've been warned!
