Get 'em while you can!
I've been on board with the whole high-resolution, multi-channel surround music bandwagon from the very start. So I've already purchased most anything that interests me in the slightest. (And then some!) However, I was recently surfing the Internet hoping to find some multi-channel SACD and DVD-Audio titles (or even DTS-encoded CDs) that I might have missed.
I already knew many titles were no longer available, but I was surprised to see how many had disappeared from various web stores just within the past year. Even some of the newer releases, such as the DVD-A of Bonnie "Prince" Billy's album, "The Letting Go", are all but gone. Knowing that new releases are few and far in between, I don't think it's very likely these discs will be re-pressed and re-released. (At least not most of them.)
What is worse is that certain hard-to-find titles are now selling for astronomically insane prices on eBay or the Amazon Marketplace. Well... I don't know if anyone has actually sold a copy of the Metallica DVD-Audio for $100 or not, but that hasn't stopped some sellers from trying.
So keep an eye out for anything of interest and don't hesitate to buy before it becomes a collectible. I know I'll be watching.
