Their planet resisted the take over and never surrendered. As a result everyone was killed but a few people. These people were rounded up and either killed or kept as slaves. Kyoshi and his sister managed to escape this slaughter and found another planet to live on. Having to fend for themselves on the streets, fighting skills were learned by necessity. When the rebellion broke out they found their way to Megumi who convinced them that the people who had destroyed their planet had been Galaxians. They joined Megumi in order to get revenge for their people.
