With deep respect and gratitude, we remember today Charles Reed, pseudonym of John Stansberry, author, translator and compiler of numerous spiritual works. We honor his legacy, which lives on in his writings.
Charles Reed was the pseudonym of John Stansberry, a former religious brother of the congregation of the Franciscan Minims in Mexico City. In 1978, a tragic incident in the congregation led him, years later, to write a report that became the book "Mount Zion Revisited", a roman à clef.
Under the name Charles Reed, he published editorials in the magazine "Reflections from the Franciscan Minims" (1990-2005), in addition to numerous translations and anthologies. His work, of deep theological and spiritual content, reached readers in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.
In addition to his writings, Reed was also a passionate promoter of Gregorian chant and early Christian music.
