Joan finds a date after she goes searching for men in cyberspace, but his unusual physique puts her open-mindedness to the test.

Although she's smothered by Marcus's stifling attentions, Joan doesn't want to hurt his feelings by terminating the relationship. So she enlists her friends to end it for her.

Maya's decision to renew her wedding vows results in a clash with Joan, who tries to impose her own tastes on the ceremony.

Joan suspects her newest boyfriend is married after an angry woman shows up at her office threatening revenge. Meanwhile, Toni is using Joan's home for a tryst of her own.

Disillusioned by the prospect of another dateless weekend, the women compile lists of qualifications for their dream partners. Joan meets a sexy man who fits the bill, but her enthusiasm gets her into trouble.

Toni refers Maya to her gynecologist when Maya worries about her inability to conceive a child with Darnell; Joan's romance with Sean fizzles in the bedroom.

Joan's frustrated by her inability to advance at her law firm, especially after William earns a case she thought she deserved. Christopher Darden appears as himself.

#17  The Declaration of Lynndependence (Mar 5, 2001)
Toni and Joan ponder their options with Lynn, convinced it is time their friend learned to fend for herself instead of depending on them. William, on the other hand, struggles to make some guy time away from Yvonne.

#18  Diss-Regard (Mar 12, 2001)
Sean wants Joan to impress a would-be employer and Maya wants her to be there for her while she undergoes surgery. What's Joan to do? The girlfriends are definitely on Maya's side. Meanwhile, Toni has her eye on Maya's doctor.

#19  A Kiss Before Lying (Apr 16, 2001)
After an uncomfortable night at Davis's restaurant, Joan decides to come clean and tell Sean about the kiss. However, the conversation doesn't end the way she anticipated.

Toni's relationship with Greg is complicated by a flirtatious doctor; Joan tries to coax an "I love you" from Sean; Maya worries about her job security after Joan hires a temp

#21  Loose Lips Sink Relationships (May 7, 2001)
Toni's impulsive acceptance of Clay's marriage proposal stuns her friends, especially Joan, who unwittingly passes the news to Greg. Meanwhile, William wants Yvonne to quit the police force following an on-the-job injury. LAPD Chief Bernard Parks has a cameo.

#22  Jamaic-Up? (May 14, 2001)
In the first-season finale, a cliffhanger concluding next season, Toni flies to Jamaica to recover from her breakup with Greg. She's joined by Joan, Lynn and Maya. Yvonne, meanwhile, reconsiders her future with William. Sinbad and NFL star Terrell Davis have cameos.

#23  The Fallout (Sept. 10, 2001)
Hell, the old saying goes, has no fury like a woman scorned, and in the second-season opener, Joan's repressed anger has an unintended side effect. Joan attempts to reconcile with Toni following the Jamaica-trip fiasco, during which the two came to blows over the breakup of Toni's relationship. But despite Joan's best efforts to forgive and forget, her resentment takes its toll -- on her own scalp. Meanwhile, Yvonne shows off her engagement ring from William; and a sudden physical change in Maya alarms Darnell.

#24  Just Say No (Sept. 17, 2001)
Embarassed by her inability to assert herself, Joan lies to her therapist about breaking her friendship with Toni; Lynn smuggles her Jamaican boyfriend into Joan's home; a newly engaged William flirts with female admirers.

#25  A Full Court Conspiracy (Sept. 24, 2001)
Waitressing to make ends meet, Lynn sets up house with her boyfriend in a garage owned by Maya's mom; Joan and William represent a soft-drink company in a suit against a pro-basketball star.

#26  Un-Treatable (Oct. 1, 2001)
The gals persuade Maya to treat herself to a dress she can't afford; William pushes Yvonne to quit the police force; Joan and Sean struggle to maintain a long-distance relationship.

#27  Buh-Bye (Oct. 8, 2001)
Lynn becomes impatient with Vosco's unwillingness to find a job; Joan's friends try to cheer her up; Toni has a professional crisis.

#28  Willie or Won’t He? (Oct. 15, 2001)
Joan is caught up in a dispute between Yvonne and William over their wedding date; Toni crosses paths with Greg; Lynn and Maya encourage their men to become pals.

#29  Trick or Truth? (Oct. 29, 2001)
Halloween is a hellish night for Toni. Not welcome at Joan's party, she is devastated by a loved one's vicious prank. Donnie McClurkin appears as himself.

#30  Joan’s Birthday Suit (Nov. 5, 2001)
Birthday girl Joan, ruing her years of inhibition, lets it all hang out on a nude beach that is frequented by a familiar face. Elsewhere, William and Yvonne face off on a prenuptial agreement.
