MOVIE: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Produced by: Warner Bros.
MPAA Rating: PG (some language and scary scenes)

Harry Potter is, in the nation's eyes, the best thing since sliced bread. And who can blame everyone? The four books are great, best-selling and cool. But I seem to like movie over the book. Sure, it follows the story in every way, but it seems that the movie captures the scenery, magic, and fantasy of what the book series fed us. And seeing that this movie was released just after Sept. 11, it seems that the nation had a movie to see. 20 movies in 2001 broke $100 million and this movie is one of them. And I'm glad to see it happen.

Is it the best movie of the year? No.. Is it the best movie you have ever seen? No, of course not. But I was really surprised by it in every way. In most instances, the books are better than the movie. Well not this time, even though there are many classmates that totally disagree. The books were darn great, but the movie gives you more cinematic imagery, and I honestly love the way the characters are portrayed in the movie. That's because they aren't what I expected them to be. Really, I had no idea that author J.K. Rowling wanted Professor Snape to look like a transvestite. Seriously, have you seen him?!  But, Draco Malfoy looks like a really mean person, and the actor that plays him is actually 15 in real life. Hagrid gives an unforgetable performance, as well as Snape. In the books, Snape is my favorite character. I'm happy to say that in the movie he actually steals the performance. It's terrfic.

You don't believe me that the movie is THIS good, do you? Well it's not terrible at all. It's pretty good. See it, I say! I recommend this movie to absolutely anyone unless of course you hate the books. In that case, you're an idiot.
