YOUNG TALENT
Jean Ann Gnall is a fifteen year verteran teacher at the Irvin C. Mollison School in Chicago, IL. Her third graders participated in a collaboratory project with the Lincoln Park Zoo during the 2006-2007 school year. The purpose of the program, Project NOAH (No One Aspires Higher), was to combine literary activities with science through the use of the zoo's collections and exhibits. The final activity--a study of birds--was to write diamante poetry.

Also included in this feature is a poem from Michael Miles.
