| "Inside You" By Dana Brammer I look into your eyes trying to see myself there I take your hand hoping to feel where you are In this place we stand strangely apart What has happened to take you so far Away from the place we used to be I am still intoxicated, still high when Im with you You are in every part of my body and soul Yet the beast inside you keeps you from being true I will not try to stop you from leaving Run until you find where you need to be I lay down next to your ghost, youve already gone And its sad that it will be too late when you finally see What you had when I held your hand in mine You will realize the best part inside you was me *** "Father" By Dana Brammer Oh father, why did you have to be so cruel Why could you never love me Like a father should Oh father, did you ever hear my tears In the back of your jaded mind Did you make sure you never would? Oh father, when I looked into the mirror I saw you looking back at me Through eyes the color of green Oh father, why did you want to leave me Why was I not your princess I was your child, your blood Oh father, you threw me to the sharks Let them devour my innocence They destroyed the child within Oh father, where were you when I screamed at night Where were you when I tried to die Anything to end the pain Oh father, now that youre cold within your grave And you know you havent a soul to save Do your tears fall down on me like rain? |
