| Sun Tea
By William Maxheimer
The auburn, amber prism of bottled water converted to tea takes me to your bright, summer smile a smile more refreshing than my favorite drink Side-by-side on our loungers talking, basking in the late afternoon sun, I lightly touch your handlook beneath your sunglasses Trying to get a glimpse at your marina- -blue eyes. Aside our garden stand two sturdy trees. I wonder: Could we get the hang of sharing a hammock? Swinging softly in the balance, our lifes gift to each other, I kiss you. Ice melts, condensation builds, be- -comes heavy. Big drops roll down the side of the glass. FALL 2008 |
