 Akım 10mA ve onun VCE si 1V ise2N3904 transistorunun  hFE si  100 ila 300 arasıdır  Ortalama 230 varsayılır.

Frekans 1kHz akım 10mA ve volt VCE  10V ise bu transistorun  hfe si pratikte 175 dir.

Avrupa transistörlerinde A düşük  hFE anlamında,  B orta ve  C ise yüksek kazançlıdır. BC49C için 10 mA ve VCE  5V ise hFE  500 olacaktır.

Sanırım akım yükseldikçe kazanç düşüyor.  2N5089 transitörünün tipik kazancı hFE  600 , akım 3mA VCE is 5V. Eğer akım 10mA e yükselmişse kazanç  400 rakamına düşer. Ve eğer akım 1mA e düşerse 5V, kazanç 1800 lere çıkar.
