One By one the pieces were gathered and before leaving for Chicago to retrieve the heart Marius put the body together. Without the heart it did not heal properly. The ancients knew that Kehleb was setting up some trap in Chicago, and tried to talk Louis from going with mortals to retrieve the heart and face the possible trap of deFaye. Louis refused to give up his quest but Marius decided to join him so the ancients were quiet. Early one evening following the failed reassembling Marius and Louis left for Chicago making sure to secure others that might try to follow. The following is excerpts of what followed: |
| Excerpt From Entrapped Pt1 Post # 1617 "Kehleb" spoke Marius, not at all intimidated by the stature of this creature. "We've come for the heart of Lestat, but you know this." Louis remained quiet containing his anger and watching the chanters as they moved closer in greater numbers. "Ah yes" replied Kehleb thru wicked lips "the heart of the bastard that made me, perhaps I should crush it now before your eyes and leave his body stone for eternity." "What advantage would that give you Kehleb" replied Marius as he watched the chanting servants move even closer. "Advantage I already have" spoke Kehleb as he reached into his cloak and retrieved the heart shaped box that held Lestat's heart. He lifted the box before them to show them it was within his hand. Marius watched him carefully and cautiously, fighting off a strange sleepiness that was taking him as the servants of this creature continued their soft chants. He looked beside him and saw that Louis was doing the same. "What is it you really want Kehleb, what will it take to end your senseless manipulations, you know your only asking for your own destruction, no matter what your plans, you will never succeed." Replied Marius now noticeably uncomfortable with the situation. Never before had he felt the true powers of this witch and his coven. "I want what I was denied, and I shall have it" said the witch vamp, now standing upon the platform. "You have your immortality" Replied Louis angrily his fangs now bared fighting the sleepiness of the spell that was being placed upon him thru the chants of Kehleb's' associates which had now moved even closer. The witch let out a hysterical burst of laughter finding much humor in Louis's remark. "You should have been a comedian my friend" retorted Kehleb, "Yes I have my immortality, now meet yours." As his words were spoken, a sudden darkness fell upon the minds of the ancients as a cage crashed down around them, along its edges amulets that would prevent them from getting loose from its binds.
