We have two big rivers, the Shinano and the Agano. Niigata City is also on the Japanese Sea. In old times there were many channels in the city, but all of them had been destroyed and been changed for roards with motorization. Even now people say that Niigata City is the city of waters.
The weather of Niigata in srping is wonderful. We have beautiful cherry blossoms in parks and on the bank of the Shinano River. There are many fine days and we enjoy sports and outdoors.
There is a rainy season in June and July in Japan. But it is relatively short in Niigata. I do not dislike this season, for proper rain brings the grace of God and I can enjoy fishing well.
Though our summer is hot, it is not so far. We enjoy swimming in the sea. Every afternoon and evening we have nice winds from the sea, which make us comfortable.
Autumn makes a poor angler a good angler, as it is the best season for salt water fishing. Leaves of trees turn red and yellow. Autumn is a nice season.
We have no fine day at all in winter. Cold winds blow every day. The sea is always stormy. But spring will come soon. And we can enjoy skiing in the mountains.
