Heart & Soul
Episode 60
When The
Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore
By Allan Craig
Oakridge Country Club
Ballroom
Diane
watched with a smile as the guests mingled at her engagement party. She had
been so nervous that nobody would come, but it turned out even the highest of
Oakridge society couldn’t refuse the offer of free champagne and canapes. Joseph appeared behind
his fiancée and handed her a glass of champagne, also carrying one for himself.
“Well,
we got quite a turnout,” Joseph remarked, kissing Diane on the cheek, “And you
were scared we’d be faced with an empty room.”
“I
know,” Diane smiled, trying to suppress the butterflies inside her stomach as
Kimberley approached her.
“Mother,”
Kimberley looked her mother up and down, secretly admiring the fact that a
woman of Diane’s age could still look so slim and elegant, “Nice party.”
Diane
could have just about fainted; a civil word coming from Kimberley was a rarity,
“Are you enjoying yourself?”
“Well
the free bar doesn’t hurt,” it was taking every ounce of self control that
Kimberley had not to make a sarcastic remark to her mother or her uncle. She
fumbled inside her oversized Chloe bag and pulled out a card and a small
wrapped up box; the smell of which giving away the fact they were some
ludicrously expensive soaps, and handed them to her mother.
“Thanks
Kimberley,” Joseph winked at his niece, he couldn’t believe she was being so
nice to Diane.
“Yeah
well I gotta go and find Leo,” Kimberley quickly made an excuse, eager not to
stay in the company of her sleazy Uncle for one more second. She vanished into
the crowd and headed over to where Leo was sat, lifting a glass of champagne
off of one of the trays being carried by a waiter as she walked, “Well that was awkward. Joseph is such a prick. Having to be
nice to him…oh my god it just like totally creeps me
out.”
“Well
the guy is a total ass, we know that much,” Leo downed his Jack Daniels, “Can
you believe Megan’s here. I thought she and your mom just weren’t speaking at
all.”
“You
know what they’re like,” Kimberley gulped down her champagne with expertise,
not even smudging her lip gloss, “Total middle child syndrome. Besides, I think
Marc probably made her come. So, how does it feel being a dad?”
“It
doesn’t feel different at all,” Leo explained, delighted at the thought of his
newborn daughter, “Natalie’s being quite cool with the whole thing, she’s
letting me see her so I don’t think we’re going to have to go down the whole
courts road.”
“Has
she thought of a name yet?”
“Nope
nothing yet, I don’t really mind what she wants to call her as long as it’s not
picked by Kyle,” Leo lit up a cigarette and took a draw, “If that guy thinks he
can just take my place he’s got another thing coming.”
“Kinda
ironic considering you didn’t want anything to do with the kid a few months
back,” Kimberley commented.
“Yeah
well things change,” Leo flicked the ash from the end of his cigarette onto the
ashtray.
“I’m
going to powder my nose, you coming?” Kimberley got up from hear seat, followed
by Leo as they headed out of the ballroom.
Meanwhile,
Taylor stood with her back to the bar, texting her friends back at home
furiously to tell them how bored she was. She spotted Greg approaching the bar
and immediately rushed over to him.
“Get
me a drink, will you?” Taylor pleaded with her cousin, practically fluttering
her eyelashes, “They won’t serve me because I don’t have any ID.”
“Your
dad would kill me,” Greg explained, although the thought of getting Joseph mad
was suddenly appealing to him, “Go on then, but just the one. What are you
having?”
“A
cosmopolitan please.” Taylor stated, feeling like she was on Sex and the City.
Carrie
& Nate’s House
Lounge
With
Adam staying with Eric and Valerie for the night, and Nate making them some
tea, Carrie flipped on the television and began surfing the channels.
“Police have stepped up the
investigation into the death of businessman Michael DiCenzo after evidence of
illegal activities in his portfolio has lead to his assetts being frozen,” said
the pretty newsreader on CNN.
“Nate!”
Carrie yelled as she jumped up from her seat, “Nate get in here!”
“What
is it?” Nate emerged from the kitchen to see DiCenzo’s faced splashed over
their plasma screen.
“Can
you believe it? Look, he’s dead!”
“Um,
yeah, that’s…something,” Nate pretended to be surprised, even though he’d known
for weeks about the demise of his former boss.
“I
thought you’d be a little more surprised,” Carrie put her hands on her hips,
unable to fathom why her fiance wasn’t jumping for joy, “I mean this is the man
that was trying to kill us for months. It’s almost as if…Nate, did you know he
was dead?”
Nate
remained silent; he didn’t want to lie to Carrie, but he knew he couldn’t tell
her, either.
“You
did, didn’t you?” Carrie’s eyes fell, “You knew, and you didn’t tell me?”
“Carrie,
it wasn’t like that, I just thought…”
“You
thought what?” Carrie yelled, “You thought that you would just let me keep
waking up every morning, scared that he could strike at any moment? Kill us
both, as well as Adam, with one fell swoop?”
“I
can explain, I…” Nate began, but the truth was, he couldn’t explain, he
couldn’t give Carrie any reason why he kept this secret from her, except from
the fact she was stressed about Greg suing for custody.
“Save
it,” Carrie grabbed her coat from over the back of the sofa and picked up her
handbag.
“Carrie
wait,” Nate insisted, walking towards the front door as Carrie stormed out,
slamming the door behind her. He clutched the back of his neck with both hands
and sighed, feeling his heart sink to the pit of his stomach. He’d known for
weeks he should have told Carrie the truth about DiCenzo’s death, but now it
was too late.
Oakridge
Country Club
As soft
jazz music played out in the background, Marc and Megan sat at a table together
sipping their drinks. Marc glanced at Megan, her long blonde hair resting on
her shoulders; she looked so beautiful, but so miserable.
“This
is definitely the event of the year,” Marc joked, watching as his girlfriend
stared off into space, “I wonder how much this set them back.”
“Oh
probably as much as possible,” Megan muttered, she knew just how show-offish
her mother could be when given the chance and noticed tonight was no exception,
“I mean one Sterling throwing a party is gaudy enough, so imagine it being
two.”
“Is
everything okay Meg?” Marc asked, reaching out and touching Megan’s arm, “You
don’t seem…yourself.”
Megan
knew just what Marc meant. She didn’t feel like herself, she hadnt done in a
while, not since discovering that Will was her brother. She’d done her best to
hide it, but sometimes she just couldn’t brign herself to pretend, “I’m fine,
I’m just not really in the party mood. Especially when it comes to celebrating
my mom marrying my uncle. I’m surprised the press arent having a field day with
this one.”
“We
can always leave if you want to,” Marc ran his fingers up Megan’s arm
playfully, continuing over her bare shoulders, “Grab a bottle of champagne to
take with us and throw ourselves a little private party, if you know what I
mean?”
“Sounds
like a plan,” Megan grabbed her clutch bag and smoothed down her mauve silk
dress as she stood up. She didn’t need to be asked twice to leave the party. As
they made their way out of the party, Megan could see her mother approaching.
She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the awkward moment that was about
to unfold, “Oh god, here we go.”
“Megan,”
Diane smiled warmly at her daughter, “You’re not leaving already, are you?”
“Yeah,
I’m not feeling too great,” Megan lied. She hadnt spoken to her mother in
weeks, so she didn’t exactly know what to say. She couldn’t really remember how
they’d left things so she didn’t know how to act around her mother.
“The
party was really great though, thanks for the invite,” Marc added, doing his
best to take the pressure off of Megan.
“You’re
practically family, Marc,” Diane laughed, “Of course you’d be invited. We
really should do something soon, the four of us. Dinner or something, you know,
for a little catch up?”
“Sounds
like a plan,” Marc smiled, knowing full well it would probably never happen,
“We’ll definitely have to arrange that.”
“But
we really should go just now,” Megan did her best to be polite to her mother;
despite her feelings for her mother, she didn’t want to ruin her night, “I just
cant wait to get out of this dress and into my pyjamas…see you later mom.”
“Bye
honey, see you later Marc,” Diane waved to them as they exited the room. ‘Mom’.
That was the first time she’d heard that from Megan in ages, and it felt good.
She was more determined than ever to be a part of Megan’s life. There was so
much she’d missed with her daughter, and she wasn’t going to miss anything
else.
Across
the room, Taylor stood scowling at Diane. Kimberley noticed her little cousin
shooting her mother a dirty look and grabbed her by the arm as she pulled her
into the bathroom.
“Let
go of me,” Taylor yelled, “You’re hurting my arm.”
“You’re
lucky that’s not all I’m hurting,” Kimberley stared threateningly at her
younger cousin, “Now I’m warning you for the first and the last time; give it a
rest.”
“Give
what a rest?” Taylor played dumb.
“You
know fine well what,” Kimberley hissed, “Standing there making everyone feel as
uncomfortable as possible just because you’re not getting your own way. Now I
don’t like this situation any more than you do, but I’m dealing with it.”
“And
please remind me why I’d be taking orders from a Z-list Paris Hilton wannabe?”
“I
think you’ll find it’s Paris that wants to be me, sweetheart,” Kimberley
insisted, furious of the comparison to someone who’d been with every one of
Kimberley’s sloppy seconds, “Now you listen to me before I string you up by
those cheap little extensions of yours. You even think about pulling a stunt to
try and ruin this night for everyone and you’ll have me to deal with. I don’t
give a fuck if you don’t like my mother, because quite frankly, I don’t like
her much either, but she’s happy, and you’re not going to ruin that for her.”
“Oh
I’m sorry,” Taylor looked at Kimberley nonchalantly, “I didn’t catch any of
that. I was too busy trying to block out the smell of your perfume. Ever heard
of the term ‘less is more’?”
“I’ve
had about enough of your lip for one night,” Kimberley slammed Taylor against
the wall and grabbed her by the jaw, getting right in her face, “So I’m going
to do all the talking now. I’ve tried being nice, but it’s obviously not
working, so I’m going to make it crystal clear for you; you ruin this night for
everyone, and I’ll pull every single one of those 99 cent store nail extensions
from your fingers, and believe me, sweety, that will only be the start of
things. So are we clear?”
“Whatever,”
Taylor attempted to get past Kimberley, but her cousin was not budging.
“I said are we clear?”
“Crystal,”
Taylor nodded grudgingly as Kimberley stood aside, turning to fix her hair in
the mirror as Taylor rushed out of the bathroom.
Josh’s
Apartment
Natalie
sat on the sofa nursing her baby daughter as Josh handed her a bottle and took
a seat on the sofa opposite his little sister. He had no sooner sat down than
the doorbell rang and he was getting up and opening the door to see Kyle
standing in the hall.
“Hey,
come in,” Josh stood aside to let Kyle into the apartment, closing the door
behind him.
“How
you doing?” Kyle asked Natalie, taking a seat next to her and clancing lovingly
at the baby.
“Yeah,
a little tired but good overall,” Natalie smiled, “She’s been sleeping quite
well actually. I was expecting to be up at all hours, but I’ve been getting a
lot of sleep in which is always good. And Josh has been a great help to me.”
“Well
I try my best,” Josh laughed, “Can I get you a beer or anything Kyle?”
“I’m
fine thanks,” Kyle nodded at Josh before turning back to Natalie, “So is there
anything I can do for you?”
“No,
just being here is fine.” Natalie was thankful that Kyle had stuck by her
through all this, never mind asking him for anything else, “I still cant
believe you missed the birth, though, Leo said he couldn’t get through to you
so he left a voicemail. You must not have checked it yet.”
“No,
I checked it umpteen times today,” Kyle
frowned, confused at the situation, “And I would have gotten the call anyway. I
was studying for most of the day to catch up on some classes I missed, so I
would have heard my phone go.”
“But
then why did Leo say…” Natalie cut herself off, the sudden realization that
even in the most special moments they had shared, Leo was lying to her. He had
purposely kept Kyle away from the birth of her daughter, and that was something
Natalie just couldn’t forgive.

Across
the room, Greg flipped his cell phone shut after receiving a dirty text message
from Kristen. He smiled to himself as he took a sip of his beer.
“Someone
looks pleased with themselves,” Kimberley teased as she sat down next to her
brother, along with Leo, “I’m guessing since you’re here alone that its
something involving a girl…”
“It was just Will,” Greg lied, knowing full well that he couldn’t tell the
truth about his relationship with Kristen just yet.
“Yeah,
right,” Kimberley rolled her eyes, “I mean I know it’s not smart to bring a
girl to one of these things so soon; like throwing them to the lions.”
“Literally,”
Leo chipped in, taking a swig of his Jack Daniels.
“But
there’s no harm in letting whatever regulation hotty you’re having text sex with
meet your favourite little sister,” Kimberley winked. She fumbled in her bag
after feeling her Sidekick vibrate and soon flipped it open to read a text. A
text she didn’t want to read. Ever. “I gotta go. I’ll see you guys later.”
Kimberley
quickly grabbed her stuff and rushed out of the room, leaving Greg and Leo
confused.
“So I
hear congratulations are in order,” a startled Greg quickly changed the
subject, “How’s fatherhood treating you?”
“I’ll
let you know when I get the chance to be a father,” Leo joked, although he
quickly realized that he had said the totally wrong thing to Greg given his
current situation with Carrie, “I’m sorry man, I didn’t mean…”
“It’s
fine. Seriously,” Greg took a sip of his beer, “Just don’t let Natalie fuck you
about the way Carrie did to me. You don’t want to miss a second of your kid’s
life.”
Alex’s Hotel Room: Bathroom
Emerging from her shower, Alex threw on her robe and
began to towel dry her hair. Her skin was raw, she had been washing and washing
constantly, ever since Wesley had raped her, in the hope of making herself
clean again. She headed into the bedroom and turned on the stereo, the calming
sound of James Blunt playing through the speakers as she picked up a paper bag
and pulled out a bottle of sleeping pills. She opened the mini bar cupboard and
grabbed as many mini bottles of vodka as she could carry, letting them roll
over the top of the bed as she took out a glass and began to pour the vodkas
into it.
Catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror, Alex sighed,
letting her damp hair fall around her face. She struggled to open the bottle of
pills, eventually breaking the seal and pouring well more than the advised dose
into the palm of her hand. She took a deep breath before breaking down in
tears, letting the pills roll out of her hand onto the floor. She crumbled up
into a ball on top of the bed as she struggled for breath; she couldn’t believe
she was so close to ending it all…because of Wesley?
In that one split second, Alex couldn’t believe how clear
everything seemed all of a sudden; as if everything had come into perspective.
She didn’t need to end it all; she needed to get over it all. She didn’t want
to become one of those women who was a martyr to her situation, nor did she
want to be hell bent on revenge. No, now all she wanted to do was rebuild her
life and get on with it. She just didn’t know how easy that would be…
Rex & Jessica’s Apartment
“I don’t believe him,” Jessica handed Carrie a cup of coffee
as they sat down at the kitchen table, “He knew that Michael DiCenzo was dead
and he didn’t tell you? What was he thinking?”
“I don’t think he was thinking at all,” Carrie had calmed
down a little since storming out on Nate, but even still, she wasn’t in any
mood to talk to him yet, “But something like that…it’s major. I don’t get why
he thought it was a good idea to keep it a secret.”
“He just thought it was best you didn’t know,” Rex
interrupted, appearing in the doorway to the kitchen.
“So you knew as well?” Jessica glared at her lover. Rex felt the colour drain from his face; he’d already said too
much.
“Leave it Jess,” Carrie interrupted, “It’s different for
Rex; it’s part of his job. Nate just knew and didn’t tell me. I mean for all I
know, he could have been the one that killed DiCenzo. I just don’t get how I’m
meant to trust him. I mean god knows what other secrets he’s been keeping from
me.”
“That’s true,” Jessica agreed, taking a sip of her
coffee, “Seriously though, how well do you really know Nate?”
“I guess things happened pretty quick. But I love him,”
Carrie insisted, “Isnt that enough?”
“Nate’s a good guy,” Rex headed over to the fridge and
took out a beer, “Don’t let a little fight make you start to question that. The
amount you guys have been through, surely you’d know by now if he was some
scheming conman.”
“Or worse,” Jessica took her best friend’s hand, “Look,
Rex is right, I think we’d know by now if Nate was dangerous. It’s just me
overreacting. So do you want to stay over tonight?”
“No I think it’s best I go home,” Carrie insisted,
realizing just how little she knew about the man she was intending to marry,
“Nate and I have got a lot to talk about.”
Oakridge Country Club
Ballroom
As the guests began to dwindle, Taylor approached her
father, who was stood chatting to a group of men at the bar.
“Daddy, can I talk to you?”
“Sure honey,” Joseph smiled goodbye to his friends and
walked over to a vacant table, where he sat down next to his daughter, “Is
everything okay?”
“Yeah everything’s fine,” Taylor sighed, “I just thought I should let you know
I’m going to go back to Houston on Tuesday.”
“But that’s more than a week earlier than you had planned,” Joseph frowned, “Is
something wrong?”
“No I just think it’s best that I go back sooner rather
than later. Look, daddy, in all honesty I’m not all that happy about this
arrangement you and Diane have got going here, so I don’t really want to stick
around to see what happens next.”
“But I thought you were happy about it?”
“I’m happy that you’ve found someone that makes you happy,
but obviously I’m not going to be happy that you’re marrying someone else
instead of mom.”
“Your mother and I…” Joseph began, “We were over a long
time before we divorced, Taylor. You and your brother are old enough to live
your own lives…you don’t need us being mom and dad all the time. Just because
we’re not together anymore, doesn’t mean we’re not your parents.”
“But you’re living miles away from us,” Taylor moaned,
“How are you meant to be a parent to me when I need a flight just to see you?”
“Taylor, honey, I’ll always be your dad,” Joseph insisted, “I’m only at the
other end of the phone, whenever you need me.”
“You promise?”
“Of course I do.”
Taylor hugged her father in a wam embrace, far from happy
about the situation, but knowing there was nothing she could change about
it…not right now, anyway. She knew this wasn’t over, not by a long shot, but
she was determined that one way or another her father was not marrying Diane,
not if she had anything to do with it.
Kristen’s Apartment
Opening the door in nothing but a silk negligee, Kristen
smiled at Greg and planted a hot, intense kiss on him.
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were
expecting me,” Greg smiled as Kristen closed the door.
“How was the party?” Kristen handed Greg a glass of wine.
“Pretty boring,” Greg took off his jacket and tossed it
on the couch, “For a Sterling party anyway. No catfights or drinks being thrown
or anything. But then again, it’s still going as we speak so you never know
what might happen.”
“Well you can forget all about that,” Kristen kissed Greg
again, “Because I want your attention focused one hundred per cent on me.”
“Like I could even think of anything else,” Greg smiled
as he wrapped his muscular arms aorund Kristen and kissed her intensely, running
his hands down her back as she undid his belt. She didn’t care how wrong this
relationship was, because it felt too good to care.
The Sterling Mansion
Kimberley’s Room
As she stuffed her belongings into a Louis Vuitton
carry-all, Kimberley’s heart raced. She couldn’t believe what was about to
unfold and she knew she had to be away from her family when it all happened,
for their sakes as much as hers. She dialled a number on her Sidekick and
raised it to her face.
“Hi, I’m calling to confirm a flight booking for
Kimberley Sterling? That’s great…one way to Vegas, yeah?”
Josh’s Apartment
Lounge
“I cant believe him,” Natalie rested her newborn baby
daughter in her crib as she walked over to the fireplace, enraged that Leo had
lied to her about phoning Kyle, “To think he’d deceive me like that. And just
when I thought we were getting somewhere. No, I cant put up with this. If Leo
thinks he can lie to me like that, he’s got another thing coming.”
“I’ve told you from day one that the guy is bad news,”
Kyle reminded his girlfriend, “I don’t see why you’ve been putting up with his
bullshit the last few months.”
“Because if I didn’t then he’d have her taken away from
me,” Natalie hissed. She didn’t want to snap at Kyle, but she just couldn’t
help it when he was stating the obvious, “I just don’t know if I can put up
with this anymore.”
“Me either,” Kyle stood up, “I don’t know if I can put up
with all this drama, Natalie, not until I know whether or not you’re committed
to this relationship.”
“Of course I am, Kyle, you know that. But you need to
accept that Leo is a part of my life, our lives, now. If you cant accept that
then there really isnt any hope for us.”
Oakridge Country Club
Ballroom
As Diane waved goodbye to the last of the guests, Joseph
approached her and handed her a glass of champagne.
“Well that certainly went off without a hitch,” he
commented, kissing his wife-to-be on the cheek, “Didn’t it?”
“I know, I was expecting far more drama,” Diane joked,
taking a sip of her champagne, “I cant believe so many people came.”
“A party’s a party,” Joseph laughed, picking up his
champagne, “To us.”
“To us.” Diane smiled, clinking her glass with Joseph as
they kissed.
Nate & Carrie’s House
Lounge
Nate emerged down the stairs as Carrie closed the door behind
her and rested her handbag on the sideboard.
“We need to talk,” Carrie glared at Nate.
“Look, about earlier, I’m really sorry. I should have
told you sooner,” Nate began, doing his best to apologize to his fiancee..
Carrie rolled her eyes as she unbuttoned her coat. It was
too late for Nate to apologize; the damage had been done and the trust was broken,
so apologizing now was pointless, “Whatever, Nate, you cant just expect this
all to go away with a ‘sorry’, not now. You lied to me, you kept a secret from
me for weeks. How am I meant to trust you when you could keep a secret from me
so easily? For all I know you could have a million other secrets that you’re
keeping from me. How am I meant to trust you?”
“You know you can trust me,” Nate placed his hands on Carrie’s shoulders as he
gazed into her eyes, “Doesn’t everything we’ve been through tell you that?”
“But how many other secrets are you keeping from me,
Nate?”
“My past is complicated, you know that,” Nate tried to
explain, “But it’s in the past. There would be no point dredging up the past
now, because it’s over and done with.”
“This is what I’m talking about!” Carrie shrugged Nate’s
hands off of her as she sat down on the arm of the sofa, “You always avoid my
questions. Why is it so hard for you to open up to me, Nate? We’re supposed to
be getting married, you should be able to tell me anything. Why cant you?”
“Because I just cant,” Nate insisted, “Can we not just
leave it there?”
“How do you expect me to just leave it?” Carrie yelled. This
was the man she was trusting around her son, yet she barely knew anything about
him, “I have sacrificed so much for you, Nate. I went on the run for you, I
didn’t see my family or friends for months. I put my life, as well as my
baby’s. in danger, for YOU. And yet you cant open up to me?”
“It’s not that simple.”
“Do you know what, Nate? It’s never simple with you. And
that’s one of the reasons why I love you so much. But if you keep shutting me
out like this, then I don’t know if we can be together.”
“Carrie, come on,” Nate pleaded as Carrie headed for the
staircase.
“Save it,” Carrie couldn’t even manage any emotion as she
spoke to him, she had been totally drained and just wanted to be left alone
now, “I’m too tired for this. I’ll sleep in the guest room tonight.”
“You know you don’t have to….”
“Just leave it, Nate. We’re not going to get anywhere
tonight,” Carrie headed up the stairs, leaving Nate standing at the bottom of
the stairs, his stomach tied up in a thousand knots that were tightening by the
second.
The Sterling Mansion
Kimberley’s Room
Looking as if a bomb site had hit it, Kimberley’s room
had been stripped of as much of her designer goodies as possible. On top of her
perfectly made, luxurious bed lay a note.
I’m sorry. Don’t
hate me…K xxx
Josh’s Apartment
Natalie’s Room
Natalie sat on the edge of her bed, checking on her baby
daughter. She couldn’t believe she’d let Leo lie to her like that and drive
such a wedge between her and Kyle. She loved Kyle so much, but she couldn’t
believe how jealous he was getting. She knew that if Kyle carried on like this,
they wouldn’t be able to last.
Marc & Megan’s Apartment
Lounge
Huddled together on the couch in their pyjamas, Marc and
Megan smiled at each other as they tucked into a tub of ice cream. Marc stroked
Megan’s long blonde hair as he kissed her on the cheek. They glanced into each
other’s eyes, and Megan felt a rush of adrenaline through her body; she had
never loved someone as much as Marc, and in that moment in time; she knew she
wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
Joseph & Diane’s Apartment
Guest Bedroom
Taylor zipped her suitcase shut and sat down on the edge
of the bed. She knew there was nothing she could do just now to stop her
father’s relationship with Diane, but she wasn’t going to give up so easily.
One way or another, Taylor was determined that Diane would never become Mrs.
Joseph Sterling.
Nate & Carrie’s House
Guest Room
Taking some bedding out of the closet, Carrie began to
make up the guest bed. Her mother always said never go to bed on an argument,
but she couldn’t resolve this situation quickly. In fact, she knew it was going
to be a long, hard struggle to rebuild her relationship with Nate if they had
any future together.
Kristen’s Apartment
Bedroom
Kristen ran her hands over Greg’s muscular back as he
kissed her neck passionately, their naked bodies touching as they made love.
They tossed and turned over the top of her bed as Greg ran his hands through
Kristen’s thick blonde hair. Their lips touched, and instantly electricity
moved between their bodies. As their hearts began to beat faster and faster,
their bodies moved closer. Something so wrong had never felt so right.
Alex’s Hotel Room
Bathroom
Looking at herself in the mirror, Alex wiped the last of
her tears from her face. She took a deep breath and made herself a promise; the
tears she had just wiped away would be the last she ever cried over what
happened with Wesley. It was time for a fresh start, she decided, and she
wasn’t going to let anybody bring her down.
The Masters House
Kyle’s Room
Sitting on top of his bed, Kyle picked up his vibrating
song to see ‘Natalie Calling’ on the display. He took a deep breath and pushed
the reject button, tossing it onto his bed and covering his head in his hands.
He just couldn’t talk to Natalie, not now…
Nate & Carrie’s House
Lounge
Sitting in the darkness, Nate downed another scotch as he
thought about his current situation. He didnt know what to do; if he kept
himself all closed up then his relationship to Carrie could be over, but if he
opened up to her about his past, he knew he would most certainly lose her.
TO BE CONTINUED…
