“Oh Calinda, you shouldn’t have tried to take my husband
away, if you hadn't, you’d still be walking the earth today, instead of buried
under it” she thought, looking at the photo of Calinda
on the paper.

Wesley closed his newspaper and put it on the breakfast table. Ashley walked
down the stairs and opened the refrigerator.
“Morning sweetheart, want some bacon?” asked Wes.
“No thanks dad, I’ll just have some fruit and yogurt. I cant risk getting
greasy skin”
“Like one piece of bacon’s going to make a difference” Wesley didnt know much about beauty.
“You know what they say, a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips”
“You're a twig, Ashley”
“Yeah right. Anyway, I gotta go to school, you know
what mom used to say, the early bird catches the worm”

“My shift finishes in five, four, three, two, I’m officially off duty” Gillian
focused on her watch., “Now it’s home to sleep”
“Have a good one” Nathan replied.
Gillian walked out, but before she reached the elevator, Dr. Marshall came out
of his office.
“Miss Wilson, can I see you for a second?” he asked, “In my office?
“Sure” Gillian replied.

“As soon as I can” her waitress, Gina Jackson, replied, managing three plates.
“I’m just nipping out to see a friend for a while, I’ll be back soon so can you
hold the fort?”
“Sure” Gina replied, "Do I have a choice?"
Pamela grabbed her keys and walked out of the restaurant.
“Forgive me for sounding forward Miss Wilson, but I was wondering if you’d care
to go out on a date with me?” asked the doctor shyly.
“I’m sorry” Gillian replied, “I'm not looking to get into a relationship now
Dr. Marshall”
“Call me Quentin, are you sure I cant tempt you to dinner at The Bungalow?”
“I really cant, it’s nothing about you, I just want to be single at the moment,
but I’ll let you know when I feel ready, okay?”
“Take all the time you need”.
Gillian got up from the seat, shot Quentin an uneasy smile, and walked out of
his office.
The Bungalow
Ben walked into The Bungalow. Gina walked over to him.
“Table for one?” asked Gina.
“No thanks, I was wondering if I could have some Linguini to go?” Ben replied.
“Sure thing, if you want to take a seat at the bar I’ll bring it over”
“Thanks”
“I’m Gina”
“Ben”
The Sterling Estate
Pamela’s
car pulled up outside the Sterling mansion and walked up the path. She rung the
doorbell and waited until Diane opened the door.
“Pamela, come in” said Diane.
“Thanks Di” Pamela replied, walking into the
luxurious mansion and sitting down on the cream sofa.
“So, it’s been a while, what brings you here?” asked Diane.
“It’s about your share of The Bungalow”
“What about it?”
“I want to buy you out, I’m now in a situation that I can pay you back easily,
and then your ties are cut with the place” Pamela was serious
“But I’m your silent partner Pam, I’m not interested in getting any money out
of the restaurant”
“I know that Diane, but I’d really like it to be all mine, you know, I mean
when I asked you to invest in the place we said it would only be short term”
“That was 8 years ago Pamela, when you were that fresh faced young
businesswoman who wanted my help” Diane recalled.
“And I always promised I’d pay you back, didn’t I?” Pamela responded.
“Fine, I’ll call the bank and we can start towards making arrangements for the
transfer”
The Bungalow
“So Ben, why is a good looking guy like you wanting a dinner for one?
Girlfriend out of town?” asked Gina.
“Girlfriend non-existent more like. You see I’m a medical student and I’m doing
training at the hospital, so I have really odd shifts and cant make plans for
much things” Ben replied.
“I know just what you mean, even though I’m a waitress I have to work really
odd shifts too, maybe, when we’re both off duty, we could do something
together”
Gina handed Ben a piece of paper.
“Here’s my number, call me”
