Flight season: early May to mid-August.
Population: common, most frequently encountered at the marshy north shore of Stoco Lake
but can be expected at most local wetlands.
Length: about 30 mm.
Yellow dot on female's S7 is somewhat square and wider than mark on S6, also best to examine the subgenital plate.

Tweed, Ontario, the north shore Stoco Lake, from east of the boat pier to the pavilion:
marshy shoreline, relatively shallow water with mud bottom supporting sedges and rushes, pondweeds, Fragrant Water Lily, Blue Flag, Sagittaria spp and Pickerelweed.
