Pond Damselflies
Family Coenagrionidae
Genus Coenagrion
Taiga Bluet (Coenagrion resolutum)

Flight season: mid-May to late July.

Population: common, may be found at most local marshes, also encountered at the Stoco Fen.

Length: about 30 mm. The "U" shaped black mark on the male's S2 is distinctive but may be thin or broken on some individuals. This damselfly's pastel greenish-blue or turquoise color (males) or yellow-green (females), quite different from other bluets, usually makes it easy to separate in the field.
