. Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Review

Right, thought I may aswell write this one out seeing as the new Splinter Cell, is well and truly out. To be honest it's been a while since I playes SC:PT so most of this is from memory. Pandora Tomorrow is another great sneak-'em-up from Ubisoft, with improved weaponry, gadgets and moves for our old buddy Sam Fisher as he moves to stop Indonesian terrorist group Darah dan Doa - Blood and Prayer(unfortunately that was the only bit of language I got to practice during the game).

The graphics have improved since the games predecessor with improved lighting and textures in highly detailed environments: lush rainforests, to moving trains (inside and outside) to office buildings to Jerusalem City.
Gameplay has also been given one or two upgrades, with some specky new moves such as the half split jump and the door sneak past move thing; well designed levels to make stealth more challenging and satisfying for the player; and they've gotten rid of the irritating three alarms = game over rule (in most missions anyway). Instead, each time the alarm is raised, the guards become more alert and armoured making them harder to kill. Although the levels are more linear than I'd hoped for, there is lots of room for play giving infinite ways to terrorise and murder your opponents.

in the all-new online multiplayer mode, which branches out from the single player storyline, you play as either a Shadownet spy: clearing up after Sam, destroying the remaining weapons. or as an Argus Brand Mercenary trying to protect said weapons. Go to the official website and click the 'online comic' link for a cool webcomic based on the multiplayer game, theres also a comic from penny-arcade in the 'featured content' section , with a humourous look at the shadownet spies. I dont have broadband myself so i havent played a multiplayer game, but from exploring the maps and tutorials it looks excellent. the game is compatable with the USB headset so team-mates can converse privately EXCEPT: I read that spies can eavesdrop on mercenary conversations, and when they sneak up and grab them from behind, they can whisper a final farewell before eliminating them.

The game has a fairly long lifespan, especially if you have net-play capabilities, with lots of different game types and options in multiplayer and challenging single player missions with different difficulty levels, it'll last you a good few months at the very least.

Overall, a great, challenging game for the Sneak-em-up fan and people thrsty for more Splinter Cell fun. Improved graphics and gameplay adds to the original Splinter Cell, (but not hugely). I'd say an 8 out of 10.
