 Ch.1

The Beginning

Well to tell you the truth, the whole thing started unexpectedly, but anyway this how it all started.

It was the first day of 5th grade and as usual, I was totally excited… “ I can’t believe it!” I shouted, “How can summer break end so quickly!” I was running around all enraged. “ Come on!” I continued, “ The whole summer break ending with nothing exciting at all happening? A party, a road trip, not even a picnic!” My mom made me quickly eat my breakfast and as usual it was wheat bread and oatmeal. I was so sick of oatmeal because everyday I had to eat them. I grumpily got my backpack and my stuff and got to the bus stop.

On the bus I saw my friends from last year and some I people have never seen before like the kid that’s sitting behind me with the nose that was so big, I could see the nose hair and the boogers! Am I boring you? Well let’s just skip to the part where I got to school. “ Same old building, same old staffs that probably means we still only get 1 slice of pizza.” I mumbled, “ The school need to get a new lunch lady or at least more than one of them.” The bell soon rang and I went in and found my new classroom. And to my surprise, my friend Seth, who I thought went to another school, was in the classroom. “Maybe 5th grade won’t be so bad,” I mumbled sarcastically to myself. “ You said it.” Said Seth. I’ve always wondered how he heard me mumble to this day.

Anyway this whole routine continued for the couple weeks and when finally I couldn’t stand the boredom, something hit me, like getting tackled by a whole team of football players. The idea was to make and sell comics. I got the idea of making comics because I’ve always liked “Garfield.” So I made up a character called “Spotty” which was a harp seal with the crave for food, fun and morons which he could constantly throw insults and pranks at. The idea a harp seal to be the main character was because I was obsessed with them and I even did reports on them for 3 years straight! Then first “Spotty” book was called “ Gone Dieting.” That night around 3 a.m., I was wakened by a strange orking sound. I opened my eyelids and “ Yahhh.” I screamed, but no sound came. When I finally came to my senses, I realized it was actually my stuffed harp seal doll alive and talking. Had the world come crazy or did my imagination gone whack? “ Let me guess, everything is boring since you started school?” It said in a high cute voice. “ Yep.” I replied, “ But seriously though, is it me or the world just go wikitty-whack?” “I don’t know,” he said, “ Last minute I was a lifeless doll, now I’m walking and talking. Maybe god sent me to spice up your life.” “ You Christian?” I asked. “ No,” He answered, “ We believe in the mighty Seafulugus, he is our god!” The next day I tried to introduce his to my friend, but he said he couldn’t see anything. My mind is really going berserk when one day at school something happened. I was at recess, when “Spotty” the “imaginary” friend said this. “ Don’t you think recess is boring?” “Yeah.” I mumbled. And then suddenly I found myself going through a vortex like the space-time continuum. And where I landed was even crazier. Half naked men because they only had half a body, a field of plastic sunflowers and chocolate bunnies hopping in a forest of tree shaped air fresheners! “W-what is this place?” I stammered. “This is the –1 dimension or you can call it Imagineland.” Said Spotty proudly, “This is a place where things that imagined go, for instance that Popsicle stick mountain you see to the right, was thought up by a kid in California who loved to eat Popsicles!”“ Am I, like allowed to stay here forever?” I asked, “ you know like live here!” “ I’m think so,” Spotty answered, “ When you’re here, your world’s time stops, so that means you can stay here for a year and still make it back for the rest of recess!”

Just when I thought no more chores, homework or anything bad in life is going to ever happen to me again, Imagineland reared its ugly side. Suddenly, something that looked like the abdomen snowman jumped in front of us from the slushy mountain. “ Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you something.” Spotty said in a shaky voice. “ I don’t think you need to tell me.” I said in a meek voice. Just when things looked bleak and the monster was about to resort to cannibalism( Hey who knows if it is part human), I grabbed one of the chocolate bunny that was hopping by and threw it over to the Martian golf course. The thing chased it like a dog trying to get the Frisbee. We got tired from the abdomen snowman attack some we found a comfy spot and settled in with a slushy from the mountain and a chocolate bunny.

Neat story? Well you probably think this is the end, well it’s not. This was just a brief intro that was about 6 pages long. This event actually triggered a whole series of catastrophic events. Read on to find out!

Ch 2

A.E (After Elementary school)

It was a year later when I met Spotty again. I was going through a stressful week at school due to three tests. By the end of Monday, it felt like I’m never going make it alive through the week! Just as I was lying on my bed, the Spotty comic book starts glowing. Suddenly a huge flash of light blinded me. The next thing I knew I was in some place where everything was white. “Hi,” said Spotty. I stared at Spotty, he looked all flat, and then I realized. “How the HECK did I end up in a Spotty comic!?” I panicked, and tried to get out, but it was as if I was in some confined space. “You can’t get out,” said Spotty, “Unless you got a pair of scissors to snip open the boxes.” “How can you not get claustrophobic in here!” I screamed. “Well it does get a little annoying staying in this little space,” Said Spotty. I grabbed Spotty, stared right into his eye, and whispered, “I do not belong here, GET ME OUT!” “ All right alright! Jeez, I liked you better as a 5th grader…” mumbled Spotty. Spotty start taking off the outlines of his body, bended them and formed a pair of scissors. “Here, use this,” said Spotty. I quickly grabbed the badly drawn scissor and cut the comic box open.

I woke the next morning wondering what I just experienced was a dream or not. One thing was for sure, I really wished to get to school…

 Chapter 3

7th Grade

It was the first day of 7th grade. I woke up and immediately went into shock. Why? 7th grade, as my friends say, was the toughest grade of middle school because it was the grade where you learn all new things and 8th grade is just a review of what you learned in 7th. I didn't believe half of the words that came out of their mouths, but this seemed like an exception. Breakfast and getting on the bus seemed to fly by. By the time I was at the front door of the school, I was breaking out in a cold sweat and are starting to see flashbacks of Summertime like right before you die. I, and 20 other students were assigned a teacher. He old, tall, mean, and had a hunched back. Ex-seventh graders call him the 'Turtle.' We were given sheet that told us which classrooms were going to be part of our schedule. Then, I got homework! ON THE FIRST DAY! And it wasn't even on our class topics. I was supposed to right a 100-word essay for about 3 classes on what part of Summer didn't work out for you a how you could've changed it. Moaning like almost everyone else, I got on the bus, went home, and either applied ourselves or slacked off. I applied myself and got to work. Just the moment I sat down, a voice came from my backpack. This time though, I wasn't surprised. Spotty "magically" came to life again. "Hey, heard y'have some more trouble. What's going on?" "Nah, just some homework," I replied. "Homework? Homework's been gone over here for decades. That the entire reason why I'm your fun loving fat seal!" Spotty exclaimed. Wow, no homework. Suddenly I really wanted to go back to that comic strip I escaped from. "Why don't they have homework in there?" I asked. "That's a story that I might not be too lazy to tell." said Spotty with a odd voice.
