Our Examination System
By Rafeeq Ahmed Chachar~ LL.B II

All over the world, examination is considered an effective way of judging the knowledge and abilities of a candidate, but unfortunately the value of examination has decreased now a day in our country.

Our matriculation and intermediate examinations are held

once in a year, this gives students a chance to neglect their studies for a greater part of the year and they think that they can easily get higher percentage by studying only for a few months or weeks before the examination.

A lot of choices are provided in our question papers; therefore students can easily neglect most of the part of their syllabus. The students get the same kind of questions every year. This keeps them very relaxed.

When a student gets a degree after passing these examinations, even then one feels that he did not have enough knowledge about his subject. Our examination should test the students theoretically as well as practically.

The students should be able to answer, questions on the basis of their real knowledge about the subject. They should have to present real proof of their intelligence and mental attitude.

Memorizing the answers of some questions should not be the criteria to pass examinations.

This is only possible when we modify our traditional examination system. Our examination should be conducted efficiently and fairly. The government should take special measures to bring our examination standard to an international level.
