Equality of People

By Shazia Siddiqui ~ LL.B II

According to Article No.25 of Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the rights of all people are equal but in our society every thing is against this article, a big problem of our society is discrimination and in such a place deserving people can not get their rights.

In our country generally forty five percent of population is
below the level of poverty and their daily income is less than one dollar, twenty percent of population is earning two dollars or less than that, thirty percent of population earns six dollars, thus only five percent of remaining population is well established and they are the only ones who are getting their rights without any hardships, whereas every man of the society who pays the tax should get the basic rights.

But everything is opposed of it. A poor man suffers by every means, whether he has to pay the bills, or to admit the patient in the hospital, he has to stand in a long queue and wait for his turn, but in spite of this the VIPs get protocol and don’t have to face any sort of difficulty.

In this way a difference develops in our society, poor people are ignored every where and this thing causes the development of crime. Allah says in holy Quran, “we do not prefer one man to another”.

And that is what we should believe in, and do to prevent poor people from being discriminated and forced into criminal activities to fulfill their desires.
