Affects of Politics in our Educational Institutions
By Mustafa Soomro~ LL.B II

Education institutions are where students learn to be civilized and cultured. In educational institutions, they are taught to know how to pass a successful life. In educational institutions students are taught to be good and to do well. Educational institutions are called a place where people get knowledge. The great function of educational institutions is to develop and increase the sense of mutual under-taking

.and confidence (We need education, which fulfils the requirements of modern age). Education will bring light of knowledge to many of our dark homes.

Education develops man’s all physical, mental and spiritual faculties. The body is strengthened, the mind is sharpened and the spirit chastened. Education enlightens and broadens a person’s outlook.
Politics has destroyed the system of education all over the world. The entire Muslim world is confronted with the sickness of moral confusion and intellectual anarchy due to the lack of good education. Students have been exhibiting more and more interest in politics. They have often learnt well the indiscipline of politics and forgotten the decencies of education
.

Politics creates in students an undesirable excitement, disturbs their studies and hampers their moral and intellectual growth. Active participation of students in politics affects their studies adversely and defeats their studentship. In fact political activities of students have a deep affect on their minds. They begin taking politics to be more important than studies.

Students who take part in politics cannot learn their studies or increase their knowledge well. They neither attend their classes nor study books regularly. Politics corrupts the minds of students and degenerates their moral character.

Student’s first and foremost duty is to study and seek knowledge. A student who begins to take interest in politics harms his career. They should study their subjects attentively and should remain away from politics.

Students favouring different political parties openly clash and fight which cause a great deal of unrest in educational institutions.

We can set up our educational standard and restore traditions of learning, if we respond to our needs which foresight rather than hindsight.

Taking part in politics means sure interference with the studies. A student should never divert his attention from studies. He has to furnish his mind through hard applications and study with the best that has been thought and felt in the world.

Education is a tool which builds a nation as developed, prosperous and modern. As far as politics is concerned, it is a way, which helps nations to run the state system in a right way.

In Pakistan, our politicians have misinterpreted both disciplines. They have made educational institutions a tool in their hands, where they exploit those students who are economically, politically, culturally and educationally weak. Such backwardness in the fields has made them strong organ of political parties.

Education is our wealth and it is a well-established fact that education builds the nation and the prevailing politics system in the institutions destroys it. If we compare the education of advanced and less advanced countries, the difference is very much clear that in developed countries, educations is free from dirty politics and in clear contrast, less developed countries are full of it.

Our government must take action to purify the educational institutions and must spend more than 2% of budget on education. I am not completely against politics, but first we should stable and furnish, career and only then may step into politics.
