"I sense a disturbance in the force"
While everyone is blabbing about Clone Wars and crappy Jango Fett games Bio Ware is busy planning the biggest assualt ever. They have been planning this collosas game for years and it finnaly came out earlier this year. Bio Ware, Famouse for PC RPG's took the job of making the first Star Wars RPG. And millions were anxiously awaiting its arrival. Well its here and not even Yoda could have known its greatness.
"Begun, This invasion has"
In KOTOR you begin the game by creating a charactor, A female or a male. Then you go and choose a charactor type, rougue, soldier that type of stuff. Then you choose a face. After all that you begin the game. Throughout the adventure you get to choose all of your dialogue and every conversation has voice, ALOT of voice in this game. Also during the whole game every action has a reaction. Every choice you make has an effect, Wanna kill some old geezer?Go ahead! But a sideeffect will ocurr from that decision being made. Wanna save the same old man go ahead! Then you can make him pay you afterward, Even if he only has a buck! Get it outa him! Anything is possible in this universe. But, remember padawan, with great power comes great responsibility. Dont let the dark side corrupt you...
"Join the Sith......If you know whats good for ya"
In Knights every choice has an effect. And also those choices determine what side of the battle your on. Keep doing good deeds and youll slowly go to the Light side, But do evil deeds and youll go to the dark side. Youll also be treated to different events and alternate endings depending on what side your on. Every Jedi has Force Powers. And Knights isnt any different. There are a ton of Force powers to choose from and both sides of the war have there own to weild. Wanna be a on the side of light? You can choose to have Healing or or Other Forces, Or do you like the Dark side? Then choose Choke or the sweet Lightning that the Sith Lord uses in the film. But it should be noted that both sides also get the average Force powers such as Force Push and Saber Toss. But both sides can also use the other sides Force Powers...Itll just cost you more Mana to use. Also whats a Jedi without a Light Saber? You can choose your sabors color, type and upgrade it throughout your journey. By type I mean what your sabor looks like. You want a puny single handed one or do you want a Darth Maul double bladed ass kicking sword, Or are you a more Anikan style Jedi swinging two seperate Sabors at once. Either way it looks great...
"Padawan, You must learn to control your strength"
The controls in KOTOR are perfect. The game is a turn based action RPG. So when you begin a battle the game pauses and you have a set of options you can choose. Fight, items and other stuff. Once you choose an option, Such as fight. The game will continue on, Your charactor(if he has a lightsabor) will battle the enemy and you can swing the camera around watching the beautiful spectacle before your eyes. The Jedi fights are simply stunning. You dont control how they are fighting so it goes on like a movie fight would. They block, they flip they do all the kick ass Jedi maneuvers. But this is the best RPG i have ever played.
"This Ends Now"
The story of this game is brilliant. Putting these new Episodes to shame. You begin the game on a ship being attacked by the Sith and you must escape it before it goes down in a fiery ball. Then you crash land on a planet and the story unfolds at a perfect pace from there. These are some of the most memorable charactors ever in a game. This is simply a perfect work of art. To play this game is to completely immerse yourself into one of the greatest games of all time. So please, Do yourself a huge favor andgo out and buy this classic. Go out and buy an Xbox just to play this game. Or rent an Xbox at blockbuster or something, Steal an Xbox and this game if you have to! But play it!
Simply a Stunning work of art.
