"Saving the universe.." [submitted by Exion ]

Saving the universe from someone evil is hardly the most uncommon story in a computer game but how about when your only weapon is a magic guitar? That can only be a good thing!

You play as U1, a kid with an obsession with the girl of his dreams, Piko, he tries his best to be cool and impress her but his low self esteem and desperation create the opposite effect, to add injury to insult hes also picked on by one of Pikos nasty friends, Kazukawa (or something like that) who makes every effort to make U1s life a living hell hes mean!

Anyway after getting humiliated by Kazukawa in front of Piko, U1 goes home, he then, assisted by his talking dog, has a band practice with a tennis racket! As soon as he finishes practicing a baby devil appears behind him with a giant musical axe and threatens to cut him in half! U1s dog throws the mystical Gitaroo at U1 and he turns into GITAROO MAN!!! This is the beginning of one of the most addictive, rewarding, and challenging and crazy games ever!

The game itself is based around ribbons of music and symbols; the objective is to follow the ribbon with the analogue stick while pressing the buttons in time to the music. Yes, this game is a bamani!

The music spreads across techno, guns n roses style rock, Goth/ glam rock, Metallica style heavy metal, the coral style alternative, AIR style electronica and many more! There literally is something for everyone here
Its great!

These songs arent just poor excuses of each genre, they are brilliantly conceived masterpieces (Id highly consider buying the soundtrack), even if you dont like rock/electronica/techno, these songs are enjoyable for everyone even my mum likes them!!!

The controls are tight, tricky to learn, even harder to master but in the long run well worth it! The graphics are not brilliant but function very well for the game!

Oh, and theres a multiplayer too! If you can find someone whos good enough at the game you can have a great multiplayer jamming session with p to 3 more friends in a 4-player orgy of brilliant music. The only downside to the game is its difficulty. I like my games hard but this tests even me IT IS VERY DIFFICULT, but that just makes winning more enjoyable. Buy this game!
